"cool conference"

This week we got to teach three lessons to our investigator Ana! She is the cutest little lady ever. I was so nervous but so excited! Me and Hermana Johnson started by teaching her very very simple truths from lesson one, we basically told her over and over that god loves her because that's about all we can say haha. In one of the lessons she started talking A LOT. For about 15 minutes straight she just went off in Spanish, and I couldn't understand any of it haha. I kept hearing "my question is" and I had no idea what she was asking about, but I tried to reply in my VERY VERY broken Spanish "We all have questions and that's okay, and I know god can answer them." She looked at me pretty funny, so I obviously didn't say it right but I think she got the idea haha. Oh well, I could feel the spirit and I hope she could too. She read the first 3 chapters of the BOM and said she would watch conference this weekend, YAY!

Learning a language is definitely frustrating, but this week we talked about how NOT knowing the language can actually be BLESSING right now. Because I don't know Spanish, I am able to rely on the spirit more than I ever have before, and it makes our lessons very simple. I've realized how simple the gospel can truly be. I'm trying to enjoy not knowing Spanish right now, and it's given me so much more hope! If God needed us to be fluent immediately, he would make it happen. I've learned there is a reason we need to go through this tough and long learning curve. I've said this a million times and I'll say it again but I love being challenged in this way!

Anyway, Spanish fails of the week:

1. An elder was trying to invite his investigator to watch general conference but instead he said "Will you watch Cool Conference?"
2. An elder was trying to say "my eyes are bad" but instead he said "my kids are bad"

I hope you all get the chance to watch "cool conference" this week, I know I am really looking forward to it!!

much love,
hermana hill

I LOVED CONFERENCE I was sad I couldn't sing but it was so fun to see the missionaries. I was like "omg they are so cute" sometimes I forget I'm one of them haha. and the spirit was so strong watching it in a room full of missionaries. I was feeling a little sad this morning that I couldn't watch it at home with you guys in my pjs and some yummy food. but as soon as I walked into the room I was instantly filled with pure happiness. so far this has been my fav conference! it was so awesome! I'm so glad I got to be in the MTC for this! and lets get a hip hip horray for 2 hour church!!!
