I'm *not* singing in general conference
On Sunday Hermana Johnson made me go to choir, even though I REALLY didn't wanna go. When we got there, they announced that the MTC choir would be singing in general conference!!!! I was like "wow I'm already seeing the blessings of going to choir in my life" butttt there was 1200 of us and only 300 spots. So we filled out a survey basically saying where we are from, and how much singing experience we have. They said that they chose the choir by the "spirit" but everyone I know who got picked is either majoring in music, or they are diverse looking (not white) hahaha so there's that. Oh well, the words of the prophet are still true and hermana johnson still makes me go to choir.
Other than that this week hasn't been too exciting! All I ever do is go to class and study for like a million hours. It gets pretty exhausting because all we ever do is memorize phrases in Spanish and by the end of the day my brain is completely fried. But I'm learning a lot and I truly love being challenged! We get to teach our first investigator on Monday and I'm very nervous but I'm so excited to apply all that I have learned.
There's a cat that lives here in the MTC and the other day me and some sisters watched it jump out of the bushes and legit KILL A SQUIRREL. It was wild. like basically straight out of a national geographics movie or something.
Yesterday an elder was trying to say "we would like to meet with you on Monday" but instead he said "we would like to laugh with you on Monday." so that's how the Spanish is going. also apparently 18 year old boys don't know how to do laundry so me and hermana johnson taught our district how to do that haha.
"life without the gospel is cancer, we have the cure to the world's cancer so we need to desperately share it with the world." -The MTC choir director. If that's not inspiring idk what is.
I love the MTC and I love being a missionary!!!
love,
hermana hill
