Light The Old Folks Home

On Saturday, our zone started off the Christmas Season right! We went to a nursing home, and sang songs, and gave treats, and talked to the cute precious old people. It was seriously so awesome. It brought back all sorts of memories from when I worked as a CNA. Oh how I love old people. I'm pretty sure it brightened my day more than it brightened theirs!

Yesterday, we were told that we were only allowed to watch the Christmas Devotional if we watched it with a non member. Sadly, we couldn't get any of our investigadores to go. buttttt we called a family in our branch and they invited their neighbors! There were 5 youth that we watched it with! 2 of them have parents that are less active. They said we can visit them sometime this week, it was so amazing! My favorite part of the devotional was the songs, because those were the only times where I could fully understand. jajaja. But one thing I did understand was when someone (I forgot his name) said that no matter where you are in the world the message of Christmas is the same. That couldn't be more true! I love that I have the opprotunity to share a message about Christ every day here in Costa Rica!

This week we had  a family night with Marcelo and a family in our branch and that was super awesome! He has been growing his faith a tiny bit at a time and we are trying to help him get over a few doubts. We have been trying to baptize Katia for like 4 weeks, jaja. but I have a lot of faith that she will make the decision to be baptized soon! we are still trying to help her come over her fear of making that committment.

Light the World is truly the best time of the year! I feel so so so thankful for Christ and his atonement for all of us. Because of him, I can try again and again and again to be a better missionary.

much love, pura vida,

I didn't have the heart to tell him that he couldn't put his arm around me jaja

Excerpt from email to parents:

Good old Costa Rica is very beautiful! yes the rain has mostly slowed down, and my umbrella is perfect! except one day IT POURED SO HARD. I was soaked. It is kinda annoying because I never know when I am going to get caught in the rain.

how is the come follow me program? I havent heard anyone talk about it here, but I am sure its great! also is the ward back home doing a  "family night" with a nonmember for the Light the World? here in costa rica, a family signs up each day to have a family night with the missionaries and a nonmember! im really excited! working with members is definitely the best way for missionary work, its been fun to see how helpful the members are here! we dont have very many strong families, so some families have signed up for multiple days! the members here are seriously so awesome. Im curious if you guys are doing the same thing in Utah?

thank you sosososososoosso much for the prayers and fasting! I can feel them :)

LOVE YOU GUYS!
