You Can Call Me Mary
This week we had a Christmas Party with our branch! They asked me to be Mary in the Nativity Scene because I am white jaja.I told them I would do it as long as I didn't have to say anything. They agreed, buttttt joke's on me because the next day I got asked to speak in Sacrament Meeting. I had 1 hour the night before to prepare. Thanks to the MTC I already had a 10 min talk in Spanish prepared! So I used that, and then I added some thoughts of my own. When I got done I was like "shoot that was probably too short." But then I sat down and Hermana Zapata was like "good job! but your talk was 20 minutes and now I don't have time to speak" I was shocked!! I guess time flies when you are terrified and it takes you twice as long to speak in Spanish. Now I feel bad for those poor people who had to sit through 20 minutes of my terrible spanish :'D
The work keeps moving forward here in Poas! One of the cute kiddos that we are teaching has a date to get baptized this Saturday! We are so happy! Kimberly is 14 and she understands the lessons so well! She loves coming to church and she helped set up the Christmas activity for 3 hours! Her heart definitely was prepared for this gospel. The other day we were contacting and we both just stopped walking and I looked up at this little window to an apartment on the top floor and I was like "let's go to there" hermana zapata was like "I was thinking the same thing." Then we meet the cuteset family ever and they came to church and it was so awesome!
I hope you are all enjoying the christmas season! Hermana Zapata and I have been celebrating by listening to David Archuletta hymns in Spanish!
love,
Hermana Hill
