What an amazing week! Monday was New Year's Eve! We celebrated by having dinner and sparklers with the branch president and his fam! The members here in Poas are seriously just too good. Then we went home and we were dead tired and we went to bed at like 9:30 jaja. I remember waking up to a bunch of fireworks around midnight. And aparently in the middle of the night I said to Hermana Zapata "¿usted quiere ver los fuegos?" I don't remember saying that, but at least that means I'm dreaming in spanish right?
This week we have been teaching a guy named Javier. Let me tell you about Javier. In my first few weeks here in Costa Rica I met Javier in the bus. I really didn't want to talk to him because my spanish was horrible and my companion couldn't help because she was talking to someone else on the other side of the bus. But I decided to talk to him anyway, it was probably the most uncomfortable conversation on the planet, but somehow I managed to talk a little bit about the gospel, and get his name and number. A few weeks later we started meeting with him, and now we have a date for him and his 10 year old son to get baptized this saturday! What a miracle!
We have also been teaching a guy named Geybany and he is legit golden. After every single doctrine that we teach him, he dramatically says "que buenísimo" or "que bonito" hahaha legit every doctrine. even after teaching about the word of wisdom, the sabbath day, and all of the commandments. On sunday we called him in the morning to make sure he was coming to church and he was like "of course! should I bring my bible?" And then he showed up with a backpack full of his bible, and his book of mormon, and a big smile on his face jaja it was so amazing! And then today he called us and told us how much he loved church and how is going to bring his sister next week! We have a date for him to get baptized in 2 weeks!
I couldn't send pics last week so be prepared for a bunch of pics from paradise!
