Yesterday was 15th of September and that is when everyone here celebrates independence day! Alright I love Costa Rica and all but one thing that they are really bad at is celebrating jajaj. I was expecting parades and parties in the street but nope. They most exciting thing that happened was that 8am church got changed to 1pm. Good ole Costa Rica. OH We also got to sing the Costa Rica national song so that was fun! You can now call me Tica
Ok funny/horrifying story. So in Spanish the word "appointment" and "date" is the same. Whoever's idea that was is the worst and I am about to tell you why. We met this dude on the street and put and appointment with him and he was like yeah I'll even bring my friend. We were like heck yeah more people to teach. So we call the day of to confirm the appointment and he was like "Can we go to a park?" and we were like yeah that will be better actually (because we can't enter houses alone without a female present). So we show up to the park, start teaching the lesson. And in the middle of the lesson they were like "ya know we don't really want to learn about your book (book of mormon) we just want to get to know you guys". Oh my gosh. I have never ended a lesson and ran away so fast after this comment. jajajaja it was so awkward. BUT WAIT. it didn't end there. They next day they sent us a message asking to take us out to Coffee jajaja. We literally explained to them that we can't date people. But they felt the need to keep trying I guess. lol I wanted to die.
Anyways! a cool story that happened! remember David? so last week he wasn't answering us at all and we thought that he dropped us but nope! We finally got a hold of him and turns out the reason he didn't come to church was because he slept in but we met with him again this week and he showed up to church! It was great!
Last night it was like 6pm and ALLLLL our appointments had fallen through and no one would listen to us but at the end of the day we found 4 people within about 30 minutes It was a nice blessing!!
We have so many blessings we just need to recognize them!!
love,
Hermana Hill
