Training is going good and my comp is really cute and I feel like a giant because she is so tiny. so tiny. everyone thinks that she is 15. Also she told me that she prayed that her trainer wouldn't be an american lolll. but then she said that said if it had to be an american, she prayed that she would be short and nice. Well I'm short and now I hope I can be nice jaja.
On Saturday I had the most marvelous and spiritual moment of my whole mission. Last week we knocked on the door of a lady named Nazareth. She's about 43, we started talking to her and she told us that about a month ago her 23 year old son passed away due to complications with his diabetes. We asked her if she knew where her son was and she said "I don't know, because everyone tells me different things" we explained the plan of salvacion with the book of mormon and told her that she can see her son again. We went back a few days later and she started to tell us that the night before she was so sad and so overwhelmed with pain because she misses her son so much. She started to pray and ask for peace and direction and some sort of signal to know if she would really see him again. She told us that in that moment SHE SAW US and she felt a voice tell her that she needs to listen to us and that what we have told her is true. She said that she can feel so much peace in us and she wants the same peace that we have. wow. She was crying, and then I started to cry and ahhh I am getting goosebumps just writing about this experience again. I cannot describe in words how strong the spirit was. We explained to her that what she felt is the holy ghost and that the gospel of Jesus Christ is what is going to bring her peace and happiness and salvacion. It was amazing. We told her she could follow Christ by being baptized and she accepted. She came to church on Sunday and loved it.
I am still in shock!!! it was amazing. ok she's not married but she wants to get married so we are about to plan a wedding folks jaja.
Okay and then on Saturday all the appointments fell through so we knocked on a door and a guy and his dad answered and listened to us and then on Sunday he came to church! but get this!!!! he literally showed up to THE FRONT DOOR. and saw that everyone was in a white shirt and tie and felt embarrassed to walk in with his nike shirt and he straight up LEFT. It was so devastating jaja we tried and tried to get him to walk in and told him that it didn't matter how he was dressed... but he was too embarrassed.. but promised us that he would buy a white shirt and come next week jaja let's hope so.
And lastly on Sunday we got a reference from the Elder's in a different area but their investigator moved to our area. They sent us the reference but the address was so bad and the phone number didn't work. We tried to go look for him anyway and it was a super random street with a bunch of houses and it was very unlikely that we were gonna find the right house. We asked around and found the house!! We talked to them and put a baptism date for him and his 13 year old son in January!! It was such a miracle. God is good.
MERRY CHRISTMAS. Christ is so amazing and I love how he came to the world so humbly. His gospel truly changes people and I am so lucky that I can see it as a missionary. I know that he walks with me here in Costa Rica.
